Treatments for chronic leukaemia can include:
- targeted therapies
- stem cell transplant
- radiation therapy (radiotherapy)
- palliative care.
Most people have one or more of these treatments.
Some people with chronic leukaemia don't need treatment straightaway. They can be monitored for changes in their symptoms or blood tests, which can show when treatment is needed. This is known as active monitoring or active surveillance.
