Event details
Professor Turner, who has 25 years experience as a psychiatrist in oncology, will overview the development of psycho-oncology - the field concerned with the psychological, emotional and social needs of people with cancer and their families or carers.
She will explore the evidence about the efficacy of psychosocial interventions in cancer care and the challenges of demonstrating this efficacy in clinical settings, while competing for scarce health dollars.
