NSW Cancer Plan Interim Evaluation Report - Executive Summary
The NSW Cancer Plan sets out a coordinated and collaborative approach to cancer control. It is the fourth cancer plan for NSW and builds on the success of previous plans, with the aim of lessening the burden of cancer in NSW.
The Cancer Institute NSW commissioned this mid-point evaluation to assess the appropriateness and effectiveness of the NSW Cancer Plan in achieving its goals for the NSW community and health system.
Key evaluation findings provided in this report include:
- development and implementation of the NSW Cancer Plan
- progress to date under the NSW Cancer Plan
- influence of the NSW Cancer Plan.
The report makes three recommendations to improve implementation of the Plan and support progress against objectives. Substantial revisions to the NSW Cancer Plan are not required, given the progress being made towards the goals and objectives.
