Preventing skin cancer
Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, but there are steps everyone can take to reduce their risk.
The NSW Cancer Plan sets the direction for engagement with the community and the implementation of skin cancer prevention activities to promote sun safety throughout NSW.
NSW Cancer Plan actions
- Implementing the new Skin Cancer Prevention Strategy 2016–2020, including social marketing programs targeting people most at risk of skin cancer.
- Generating and using new evidence to inform strategic planning, and developing and implementing skin cancer prevention policies, projects and services.
