Cancer Good News Project

The Cancer Good News Project is a multilingual online resource aiming to address cancer related stigmas among Macedonian and Serbian communities in the Illawarra region of NSW.

It also focuses on promoting the importance of screening for breast and bowel cancer.

The website includes:

  • 'Cancer Good News Facts' (information about improved cancer survival rates)
  • ‘Good News Tests’ (information about the importance of both bowel and breast screening)
  • 'Good News Stories' (screening and survival stories of community members)

It is a joint initiative of the Centre for Health Initiatives, University of Wollongong, Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, and Cancer Council NSW (Southern Region), and funded by the Cancer Institute NSW.
