Opportunities from the Forum
The 2022 Multicultural Health Services and Cancer Services Forum Evaluation identified the following opportunities for consideration:
- Potential for more consumer experiences shared and a carer’s role could be included in the discussion of person-centred care.
- The attendees would like to learn more about culturally responsive care in terms of diet, communication, access to support, data sources, NGOs, existing collaborations/ partnerships, point of care interventions and the LGBTQI+ community.
- Improve the collection, quality, availability, analysis and interpretation of CALD data.
- Potential for further discussion about how to ‘take on’ challenges, display leadership, and a statewide approach to producing resources.
- Potential for an Institute central repository to share projects and resources.
- Setting up the right governance and support was an important feature for CALD resources and initiatives, and executive sponsorship is necessary to enable access to resources and to also normalise culturally responsive care across all operations.
