We are honoured to recognise Dr Ashfaq Chauhan for his transformative research on people with cancer from culturally diverse communities

Winner of the 2024 Outstanding Early Career Researcher Award

Dr Chauhan is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Coordinator of the Healthcare Engagement and Equity Research Stream at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, at Macquarie University.

In addition, Dr Chauhan leads the iCanCarePlan project, which focuses on improving advance care planning among CALD Australians. His collaborative approach has successfully addressed disparities in medication safety and care coordination, significantly enhancing the quality of cancer care for more than 2.8 million residents from culturally diverse backgrounds in NSW.

Dr Chauhan has produced 31 peer-reviewed publications, delivered 40 presentations, contributed as an author on five government reports and attracted more than $400,000 in research funding as a Chief Investigator.
